Facebook and Twitter, as we know are the two most used social media tools up to date. It has revolutionized the way people communicate due to the growth of today's technology in thanks of the internet being accessible from virtually anywhere even on the go with smartphones. Organizations have adopted this use mainly for their professional image. It also helps promoting, and being found by those who are interested in the their activities.
First off let's take a look at Home Depot, a well established company, then a small family company like Rogan's Shoes, as to how they use both Facebook and Twitter by answering some questions. Why are they using these services? How are they using them? Who are the audience? How do they manage relationships with their audience, and are there strategies being used?
Why are they using these services?
Home Depot's Facebook and Twitter page are both attracting. A reason why they would use both is to show what they have to offer their consumers as far as products go.
How are they using them?
The way they use the social media tools is by making it interactive. They don't only concentrate on themselves about home improvements, but also cover a wide range of activities from college football game day, decors, and seasonal events which relates back to them.
Who are their audience?
Their audience consists of home owners, carpenters and or anyone that utilizes the tools they supply specifically for home improvement jobs.
How do they manage relationships?
Home Depot manage relationships by showing their involvement with the community around them by giving back and lending a helping hand to others in need of home remodeling.
Their Strategies?
Posting visuals for proof that they do show passion for what they do.
With Rogan's Shoes media sites, like Home Depot they set out with a similar purpose, and that is to bring in consumers who will come and want to stay.
Why are they using these services?
Since Rogan's is still a small family based company they are most likely using it to help promote themselves, and make it known that they want to be found and expand.
How are they using them?
Rather than using it to show what they can do or offer the consumer, they are using it as a way of closely communicating by asking their audience what they want to see posted. In a way it seems as though they are running out of ideas.
Who are their audience?
Simple, just about every person out there who loves shoes! Anyone from a business person looking for dress shoes, an athlete of all sports, someone whose job requires steel toe boots, a skateboarder, or just simply someone in need of a new pair.
Managing relationships?
By informing their consumer about sales, this creates a loyal relationship between both sides.
After assessing both organizations and how they use their social media tools, I have come to conclude that they both have similar goals, but different purposes. Every company wants to be found by showing their expertise publicly and they are doing it effectively by using these social media tools. Home Depot are more involved with their consumers as to where Rogan's Shoes concentrate more on possessing a large variety of shoes for people with different needs. As you can see they both have established their own ways of communication through Facebook and Twitter quite well just by either visuals or questions and answers their audience wish to see.
I like that way you explained the differences of the two company's and how they use Facebook and Twitter. The way you organized the post was very easy to follow and I could see exactly see what point you were making.
